Do you remember the walk to Capelulo where I mentioned seeing a sign for a druid circle? Well, a couple weeks later I returned with my parents to look for it.
The beginning of the walk was tough. We took a bus to Penmaenmawr and promptly walked straight up to the Jubilee Walk:
Instead of going around the walk, though, we continued to back track (more up!) until we reached the sign for the druid circle again. Armed with a set of GPS coordinates and a general idea of how to get there, we meandered along the hills above the coast:
I’m glad we didn’t try to find this druid circle on our earlier walk — it was a good ways off the path we took last time. But it was well worth coming back for, as we walked up to a very clear circle of stones:
We also discovered a smaller, older set of stones nearby:
As we retraced our steps to get back to our starting point, we stopped to say hello to some fellow travelers:
I won’t be in a hurry to walk up that giant hill again, but it was an incredibly satisfying walk!
