I took a little break from knitting my scarf, but now that the temperatures are dropping again I decided to get back to work! I have discovered a few things along the way:
- This scarf is really wide. I like the stripes and the pattern, but wow, is it wide. It’s going to be pretty bulky when I wrap it around my neck.
- It is taking forever to knit! This is my fault. The yarn is relatively thin, the pattern is complicated, and it’s plenty wide. So the knitting doesn’t go quickly.
- I really need to be more gentle when rolling yarn into a ball. I had to split my skein of cream-colored yarn into two balls, and I wrapped it a little too tight. It’s not so fluffy anymore.
But that’s okay. Because the scarf is looking nice so far, and I’m going to feel really good about myself when I finish! This has been a learning process — and one that will result in a very warm, comfy scarf when I’m done (flaws and all!).

Pretty!
